Angie Maxwell, PT, DPT, WCS
Angie Maxwell, PT, DPT, WCS is the practice owner and clinical director. She graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2013 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has been a pelvic health specialist since 2015. Angie is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy credentialed through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She is an acknowledged expert in pelvic health physical therapy and qualified to treat the most complex cases. Before deciding to begin her practice, she worked in various hospital systems and large private practices.
She opened Madrona believing that there was a better way to deliver physical therapy services that truly optimized patient outcomes. She had identified the lack of healthcare support in the community for women, especially in the areas of pelvic health, post-partum care and osteoporosis treatment. She is thrilled to have created a physical therapy clinic where female at birth bodies can feel cared for and receive the specialized treatment they need.
She has advanced training in identifying pelvic floor dysfunction and treating functional and movement disorders related to pregnancy, post-partum, incontinence, sexual health, female athletics, menopause and osteoporosis/osteopenia. Angie’s primary function now is clinic leadership. She currently treats patients on a limited basis and instead provides mentorship to staff through teaching and consulting on complex patient cases.
She thoroughly enjoys directing clinic operations and fostering clinical excellence within her staff. Angie is a community advocate for women’s health in the Tacoma and enjoys connecting with other like-minded practices and groups.
She lives in Lakewood, WA with her husband, two children, her pup, Roxy and her rescue kitty, Toast. She enjoys Nordic walking, yoga, hiking, reading, camping, cooking, boating and dog training.
